Thank You! & the new DONATE button on the website
We take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for your donations to the Family Offering, both 1st and 2nd Sunday Parish Collections since March 15th, and the Priests’ Easter Collection which were dropped off to either to the parish church or to the Presbytery, since we were put on lockdown due to Covid-19. Many more have also contacted us enquiring how they can get their donations to us. In that context we hope the following suggestions will be of assistance to you.
At the moment it’s important we all try to be as safe as possible. That’s the most important thing. Presently we are using all technological means possible to connect with you through the parish webcam via our parish website, WhatsApp broadcast group and Facebook of which we are delighted you’re connecting with us. We will continue to use these means to spread the Good News into the future. To give you a sample of numbers tuning in – we had over 10k view, 3,300 hours of watch time, 123 subscribers webcam views from since March 22-May 10 just for our parish webcam alone and we had over 11k visits to our parish since March 1st to May 10th and that’s not including the parish Facebook live feeds and WhatsApp broadcast group posts. There are many thousand’s connecting from near and far. Thank you for that!
With an eye into the future, while some restrictions may be eased from May 18th, we don’t know when it will be safe for us to have gatherings for Sunday and weekday Masses. It could be for some time. We hope sooner rather than later. So, we have to plan in the absence of Sunday Masses.
So, in the absence of public Masses for the foreseeable future we suggest the following on how you can donate towards Family Offering for the upkeep of the parish church, the 1st collection & Easter Dues for the support of the active and retired priests of the diocese and the 2nd Collection for support disadvantaged parishes and diocesan offices. We hope these suggestions will be of help to you.
- In order to facilitate Family Offering, Easter Dues, and 1st & 2nd Collection we have now placed a ‘Donate’ Button on the website and its fully active. The button is accessed by logging onto the parish website mountviewblakestownparish.ie with your credit or debit card. It has options for one off donation or to set up a recurring one. We appeal to your generosity and its easy to use.
- If you are in a position (or have a family member do it for you) to get your donations to us, you can do so by delivering through the Parish shrine candle donation box or the letter box of the Parish Presbytery. If you are part of the parish tax rebate scheme just ensure your box number is noted.
- If you would like to donate to the Family Offering by direct debit your welcome to call or text Fr Binoy Mathew (089-2174317), or email email@example.com and we will assist you with the simple process. This is a great way of donating to us especially in the absence of Masses, and again easy to do so.
We hope the above suggestions are of assistance to you, especially at this time when public Masses are suspended. We will continue to keep you updated of anything that develops. We have a wonderful tradition in our Parish of supporting in times of challenge, but challenge brings opportunity. We have a wonderful opportunity of being Parish in a new way, and supporting your Parish at this time and into the future.
Thank you for reading this post and for your kindness. Thank you for all your support to us and to your Parish. May God continue to bless you and your family with health and safety.
