Greetings from the priests of the Huntstown, Mountview & Blakestown.
I trust you are all keeping well and we invoke the protection of Our Lord on you and your family these challenging days.
I am aware that all of you are anxious about the celebrations of Holy Communion and Confirmation in the coming months. We do not know at this stage whether we will be able to go ahead as we planned at the beginning of the year. Given the number of schools we have in both parishes, I think at least two weeks of school days are needed prior to the scheduled date of sacraments if we are to celebrate the sacraments as we had scheduled at the start of the academic year. We will be in touch with you with updates of any possible changes to the dates. Parents will be the first ones to know if there is any change.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Please share the parish website and WhatsApp broadcast group number with your friends and family.
In view of the restrictions imposed by the Government, we are unable to hold any public worship in our local churches. We do not know how long it will take us to go back to the kind of life we used to cherish.
In a week’s time, we will be celebrating the most important feast of our faith, Easter. It is not possible that we will be able to gather in our churches for various celebrations of the Holy Week. In order to remain connected with the local parish and faith community, we have a church webcam from St. Philip’s Church, Mountview which can be viewed via www.mountviewblakestownparish.ie The site gives daily updates and live Masses:
- Monday to Friday 9.15am & 7.30pm
- Saturday 10am
- Sunday 10.30am.
- Morning prayer daily 15 minutes prior to the Morning Mass
- Daily Morning Mass will be followed by guided Holy Hour and Benediction
- Daily evening Prayers including Rosary at 7pm
- All other times we have the exposition of the Eucharist streaming live.
Again, we also have a parish WhatsApp Broadcast group and if you wish to be part of it please send a WhatsApp message to 0892174317 requesting to be added to it. Your privacy will not be compromised.
All the priests of the parish are always at your service. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if u require any help.
Blessings to you and your loved ones in these days.
With prayerful wishes
Fr. Binoy Mathew svd
